The annual Bali Arts Festival is a world-renowned event. The Asian global travel site Agoda.com is celebrating the festival this year with special deals on travel to Bali. The month-long festival known as Pesta Kesenian Bali, or PKB, has been held from June through July since 1979.
It is a showcase for the very best of Balinese arts and cultural traditions, and features a spectacular parade through Denpasar which is a highlight of the festival. Costumed performers and the music of gamelan orchestras take over the streets in a vivid display of Hindu-inspired Balinese tradition. The festival features many musical and dance performances throughout, as well as the famous Balinese shadow puppet theater, Legong dance theater and mask dance performances. An address from the President is a highlight of the opening day ceremony.
